A spokesperson for NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “Following four recent unsuccessful attempts at finding a provider for the service, the CCG has made the very difficult decision to close Stockton NHS Health Care Centre [Tithebarn]. The practice will close on 31 October 2017.
Our priority now is to ensure that the patients registered at Stockton NHS Health Care Centre can access alternative primary health care services. We are in the process of writing to patients registered at the practice advising them of the closure, and assuring them that there are many other practices in Stockton where they can register.
To register with an alternative practice, patients should contact that practice and staff will be able to provide advice and support.
“We would like to convey our disappointment to those patients affected by the closure and for any inconvenience that this will cause them. We appreciate that this can be a distressing time for patients, but can assure them that they can continue to access high quality health care services by registering with a nearby practice.”
